Meet The DC Superior Court's Next Chief Judge
Will DC Superior Court Chief Judge Lee Satterfield get a third term as Chief Judge, or will he be replaced? Meet him and the other four candidates for the position at a Council for Court Excellence forum at UDC Law on June 6.
Since 2008, Chief Judge Lee Satterfield (bottom right) has presided over the DC Superior Court. The '92 Bush appointee served two four-year terms and is now hoping for a third term.
He has competition. Others in the running for the position are Hon. Judith Bartnoff, Hon. Erik Christian, Hon. Robert Morin and Hon. Hiram Puig-Lugo.
You can meet the next Chief Judge, whoever he or she may be, on Monday, June 6, at UDC Law School. The Council for Court Excellence is hosting a public forum, where folks can hear directly from the judges seeking to become Chief Judge, and engage in a Q&A.
Who chooses the new Chief Judge? The DC Judicial Nomination Commission, an organization headed by former DC Bar Foundation executive director Katia Garrett.
Comments from the public are invited up until June 9. Get more info on candidates and submit comments here.
