Rep. Gingrey's Third Career
Rep. Phil Gingrey has joined Drinker Biddle after 12 years representing Georgia's 11th Congressional District and nearly 30 years as an OB-GYN. A stream of Representatives and lawyers came out to the Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar to welcome him yesterday.
Gingrey, center, joins the government & regulatory affairs group as a senior adviser and will work closely with the firm's lobby shop—the District Policy Group. Though he can't lobby, he'll be advising others on the best approaches to take when communicating with Congress. We snapped him with DPG SVP Jeremy Scott, Rep. Bill Posey, Rep. Dave Reichert, Rep. Gregg Harper and DPG president Ilisa Halpern Paul.
Here Drinker Biddle executive partner Mary Devlin Capizzi and DC managing partner Maureen Hardwick bookend Rep. Jack Kingston, Rep. Gingrey and Elusys Theraputics CEO Elizabeth Posillico. Before deciding on Drinker Biddle, Gingrey tells us he and his wife, Billie, who was also in attendance last night, considered staying in their home state of Georgia full-time. (That is where their four children and 13 grandchildren live, he points out.)
Upstairs at the restaurant, around 100 guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. We snapped Drinker Biddle's Elisse Lassiter and DPG's Jim Twaddell.
