Vice president Joe Biden received the Triumph of Spirit Award in memory of his son, Beau Biden, Sunday at the 19th annual Race for Hope DC. He's with brain cancer survivor Nitin Rakmachandran. The race brought 10,000 brain cancer advocates to raise $2M for Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure and the National Brain Tumor Society. It was sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield, which continues the efforts of DTZ and Cassidy Turley for 16 years since the death of co-founder Pat Cassidy. CushWake Mid-Atlantic chief Roberta Liss said they're proud to be the largest fundraiser for brain tumor research in the country. As VP Biden said, "Folks, we're going to beat this damn disease."
