Bastille Day!
We celebrated Bastille Day at L’Enfant Café Bar’s Bastille Day Block Party on Saturday. Yes, we know the French National Day is actually today, July 14, and commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the Storming of the Bastille. The tradition began 10 years ago as a champagne toast on the cafe patio for friends and staff, and has since become a neighborhood tradition. We snapped the men behind the magic: L’Enfant owners Christopher Lynch and Jim Ball, and Dan Roberg.
Vernon Street in Adams Morgan was closed off for festivities all day and night hosted by King Louis XVI. Here, CAL’s Erik Halvorson, NARP’s Maxime Devilliers, Integrity Management Consulting’s George Nichols, and RP3 Agency’s Jake Hargadon.
The day featured a French maid race, can-can dancers, a raffle for a trip for two to Paris, and a masquerade ball. Here, USPTO’s Seye Iwarere, Valcourt’s Ryan Burgos, Career Builder’s Andrew Hamburger, Ernst & Young’s Jono Ament, and American Society for Nutrition’s Allanna Wallace.
Guests indulged at five street bars serving Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, and Leffe beers, and our personal fave TEAVINE (green tea, white wine, and honey infusion). Food trucks offered grub from DC Slices, Rito Loco, and Crepes Parfait. Here, Jessica Fabian, Sister Cities International’s Christina Fabian, Booz Allen Hamilton’s Laura Popowich, and Towers Watson’s Ashley Craig.
