Celebrity Roast!
Last night we went to the Mayflower for the 12th annual Michael Wilbon & James Brown celebrity roast celebrating retired NBA player Wes Unseld.
We snapped DC-CAP board chairman Don Graham with event host and ESPN's Mike Wilbon, event honoree Wes Unseld, Monumental Sports' Ted Leonsis, co-host and CBS NFL anchor James Brown, DC-CAP CEO Argelia Rodriguez, and Monumental Sports and DC-CAP board member Raul Fernandez.
The roast and the golf classic today raise funds for DC-CAP, which provides college tuition assistance for DC students. At the VIP cocktail reception: Sally Ein, dentist Ben Watkins, and Sheryl Wilbon, the host's wife.
Washington Mystics’ Kara Lawson and Eric Thibault, Discovery Education's Melissa Cook, and Monumental Sports' Zach Leonsis and Lee Stacey. There was an extensive silent auction with many opportunities to sit courtside at various DC sport venues.
Ameriprise Financial's Bob Butterworth and Scott Gibson bookend political consultant Martina Bradford and WMG PR's Ann Walker Marchant. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal with a wonderful selection of pastries prepared by the Mayflower chefs.
