Citi Open!
Last night, in perfect weather, we joined the crowds at the Citi Open tennis tournament at Fitzgerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, for a wonderful evening of food, fun, friends, and fantastic tennis.
We were pleased to introduce our friends The O Team’s Bob Okun to Brookfield’s Greg Meyer and his wife Tanya; and then discovered that Bob and Tanya work out together at a boot camp. The non-profit Bob’s girls started, Thanks USA, has raised $10 million for military families’ education.
Bravo to ASB’s Robert Bellinger who braved a double Bisnow day: he started out speaking at our Private Equity Real Estate Summit in the morning, then joined for tennis in the evening. He’s bookended by his colleague David Quigley, who flew in from Silicon Valley, and his wife Natalie Wilensky.
We snapped the always gracious Rappaport Companies president Henry Fonvielle and his wife Lee, who welcome friends to their suite.
The tennis was terrific. We snapped Lleyton Hewitt who beat fellow Aussie Marinko Matosevic 6-4, 6-3, while on other courts, people cheered for Sloane Stephens, who was beaten by fellow American Christina McHale 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, and 21-year-old Jack Sock, the second ranked American in the world, who won 7-6, 6-4.
