Corcoran Ball!
Over the weekend we went to three elegant galas, starting with a black-tie affair at DC’s oldest art museum, the Corcoran Gallery of Art for the 59th annual Corcoran Ball.
This year the Ball benefits Corcoran Access, to make its collections accessible digitally around the world. We snapped its honorary chair, Capricia Marshall, ambassador-in-residence to the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin American Center, surrounded by board member Ann Stock, Tracy Bernstein, Michelle Pablo, and chair Ivy Howells.
The springtime garden theme was a surprise until the doors opened. Each gallery had its own signature look that blended beautiful table settings, extravagant flower arrangements, and fabulous art. Here, DOJ’s John Carlin, Corcoran’s Sarah Newman, and Dr. Michael Petite and his wife Jeannette.
The Corcoran Women’s Committee outdid themselves as the reception had beef carpaccio, crab taco, smoked salmon onigiri, and mascarpone with grapefruit hors d’oeuvres. Here, ProInspire’s Monisha Kapila, Inova’s Raj Chand, Deloitte’s Russell Gong, and Global Good Fund’s Carrie Rich.
For dinner, guests ate Maine lobster salad with rhubarb vinaigrette, filet of beef with truffle sauce, and almond gelato. Here, Friendship Animal Hospital's Schuyler Matthiesen, Peck, Madigan & Jones’ Megan Farrell, and WFP’s Hadley Allen.
