Edwardian Gala!
We entered a different era at An Edwardian Gala hosted by the Cathedral Choral Society at The Fairfax at Embassy Row. We snapped music director J. Reilly Lewis, gala honorary chair Bitsy Folger, and exec director Genevieve Twomey.
The Cathedral Choral Society is the oldest symphonic chorus in DC, founded during the 1941-42 season. Here, Board prez Thomas Gallagher, Jean Jawdat, and Merrill Lynch SVP Paul Juergensen.
Following the welcome reception, guests were ushered into the grand ballroom to the sound of bagpipes. Here, Washington Performing Arts Society (WPAS) supporter Irene Roth, composer Joel Friedman, and ABIM’s Dr. Vicken Poochikian flank WPAS CEO Jenny Bilfield.
Cathedral Chorus singers who performed, like Elizabeth Williams and Meredyth Shinko, donned their best Edwardian attire. They're bookended by volunteers Sarah Rockwood, Jennifer Orudjev, and Chris Wooley.
Elizabeth Kennedy, Casie Kiel, and Merjan Bubernack contributed to this issue.
