Film Festival!
Last night we went to the Old Town Theater in Alexandria for the opening night of the GI Film Festival, and the world premiere of the Civil War epic Field of Lost Shoes.
We snapped actor David Arquette, right, a VA native, who plays Captain Henry DuPont in the film, along with its executive producer Brandon Hogan and co-producer Jeff Canavan.
The festival, known as Sundance for the Troops, runs through Sunday and features 56 film screenings. Here, former VA Governor Jim Gilmore and Eva Hardy.
Festival founders Brandon Millett and his wife Laura Law-Millett. She tells us that, when on active duty for 14 years, she didn’t like the way Hollywood movies portrayed soldiers in a negative light. They launched the festival to showcase films that “show the other side of soldiers.”
