Hillary!
Last night we went to see Hillary Rodham Clinton deliver the keynote address at the HIPPY Avima D. Lombard Award Dinner at the Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University.
We snapped her with Senator Nan Rich, exec director of HIPPY—Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters—which focuses on family literacy, school readiness, and parent involvement.
ABC's Toni Slotkin, Eli Frank, Aaron Burstein, and HIPPY Board chair Linda Frank. Secretary Clinton’s relationship with HIPPY dates to the 1980s when she was the Arkansas First Lady, and brought the program there to teach parents how to prepare their children for school.
Clinton celebrated the accomplishments of the voluntary home visiting instruction program as HIPPY marks its 25th anniversary, with 135 HIPPY sites in 21 states and DC, serving 15,000 families. Here, Clinton Foundation's Patti Miller, HIPPY Board member Adrian Cerezo, and MBST Solutions' Mary Beth Salomone Testa.
