Hope for Hearts!
We went to the 2014 Hope for Hearts Casino Night Saturday night at the Sphinx Club.
We snapped Ski Johnson with Lily, the night’s Queen of Hearts, a true fighter and an inspiration, who’s had open-heart surgery several times at Children’s National Medical Center.
Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, open bar, live casino action, photobooth, a great silent auction and dancing. Here, Deloitte’s Joe Stuntz and Michelle Stuntz with the event organizers Adam Armiger, who's at American Realty Capital Properties, and Sean Wainwright, who's at A Bloom.
The night raised funds to support DC families who are affected by the nation’s No. 1 birth defect, children born with congenital heart defects. Fairfax Schools’ Tania Paul, Arlington Schools’ Bridget Falcone, and Smithsonian Institution’s Jenny Robertson.
Casino games included roulette, blackjack, craps, and hold 'em. The event was presented by the Hope Marietta Foundation to raise money and awareness for congenital heart defects for local children.
