Improv!
Last night we went to the Press. Play. Repeat. comedy show for improv, comedic storytelling, stand-up, and to hang out with some of DC’s funniest people at The Loft in Chinatown. The show featured Press Play, the oldest indie improv group in DC. They just celebrated their fourth anniversary, returning from the LA Improv Festival and the NY Del Close Marathon. We snapped them: Sabahat Chaudhary, Charles St Charles, Jon Chesebro, Coonoor Behal, Ian Farley, and Eva Lewis.
Acts called for audience participation and poked fun at the ice bucket challenge, an audience member’s Uncle Bruce, and mission trips to Africa. Here, The Rich and The Richer’s Ryan Krull, Kristin Brown, and Nicolette Argyros, who met at the Washington Improv Theatre and have been making people laugh together ever since.
We had a great time pre, post and intermission mingling with the cast and audience at the unique loft space at 600 F St. Here, Suburban Hospital’s Kaitlyn Robinson, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ Stevan Tomich, and GMU’s Rob Miller.
Their next show is at The Loft on October 1. In the meantime, fans can follow their comedic tweets on @pressplayimprov. Here, Deloitte’s Fernanda Mastny, Andrew Leach, Shyna Stephens, Alex Stewart, and Pat Campion.
