MTV’s Benjamin Brothers!
Last night we also went to Georgetown’s Graham Hotel to Meet the Benjamins and kick off the premiere of their MTV reality show, The Benjamin Brothers: Heroes of Global Autism Awareness. In observance of World Autism Awareness Month, MTV features Maryland brothers Brad and Kenny Benjamin in a True Life documentary this Saturday, April 26. We snapped the stars signing autographs in the VIP lounge.
The reception continued on the hotel rooftop lounge where guests enjoyed the view and drinks like a Pisco cocktail with rum, blue curacao, lemon juice and sprite. Here, actor Lamont Easter, J. Hilburn’s Jan Adams, Autism Speaks’ Marley Rave, and GWU’s Kirsten Gerke and Heather Russell.
150 attended to applaud the brothers’ courage for putting their lives in the public eye to raise awareness. Here, Encore Resources’ Tracey Kennedy, Parexel Intl’s Letty Cintron-Patterson and Lori Turtiainen, Exclusiva Eventi’s Claire Connelly, The Heritage Foundation’s Erick Bautista, and Athena Health’s Ty Diehl.
The brothers’ goal is to gather support for all adults living with autism and to show that they have the same problems as everyone else, just a bit more challenging. Here, song writer Melvis Long and his wife Yoko, with Penn State’s Al Hartman.
VDOT’s Robert Williams Sr. and his wife, St. Philips Child Development Center’s Erica Williams.
