NSO Ball!
Last night we went to the Kennedy Center for the always glamorous National Symphony Orchestra Season Opening Ball.
We snapped Kennedy Center chair David Rubenstein with Development VP Marie Mattson. The concert marked the start of the National Symphony Orchestra's 84th season with a beautiful performance in the Concert Hall by violinist Joshua Bell, soprano Kelli O'Hara, and the NSO conducted by both music director Christoph Eschenbach and Pops conductor Steven Reineke.
The Ball was chaired by tireless philanthropists Wayne and Catherine Reynolds (right) here with photographer Laura Smith and her husband, McGuireWoods' Andrew Smith.
The Ball was the official introduction of new Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter (right) and her husband Peter Ellefson, here with Community Engagement VP Garth Ross and his wife Christy Halvorson Ross.
The President's Advisory Committee on the Arts chair Sonya Halpern is with committee member Anne Ashmore-Hudson. After the concert, guests moved to a large tent on the south end of the grounds for dinner and dancing.
NSO Directors Scot and Cathy McCulloch with International Music Institute founder Daniel Heifetz and his wife Janne. After a cocktail reception, we sat down to a great three-course meal starting with a lobster and heirloom tomato salad.
Levine Music's Peter Jablow and NSO chair Jeanne Weaver Ruesch.
