Paint the Town Red!
Last night we went to Paint the Town Red at the Carnegie Institute for Science for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music, dancing, and a silent auction, and to support the mission of the American Heart Association.
The gala was hosted by AHA’s PULSE, young DC professionals who engage friends and co-workers to develop the habit of philanthropy and change the health of a new generation through group activities focused on fitness and nutrition. We snapped Public Properties’ Lorena Jewart, Charity Chicks US’ Rachel Hallinan, and The Washington Post’s Rebecca Trosset.
Guests were encouraged to wear red tie cocktail attire or favorite red accessories to show support for the AHA’s mission to prevent heart disease and stroke. Here, event chairs Steven Albert, Paige Crosby, and Glenn Stewart.
Silent auction items included tickets to the Newseum, round-trip tickets from Jet Blue, gym memberships, yoga classes, and signed footballs from ‘Skins players Desean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Here, Morgan Stanley’s Joseph Howard and CBRE’s Elizabeth Whisman.
Sweetgreen’s Haley Raphael, Swatchroom’s Gabriella Laskow, and WUSA 9’s Margo Shear.
March of Dimes’ Nikki Garro, UCSD’s Sara McMenamin, and Rebecca Rodriguez.
The American Heart Association builds healthier lives free from cardiovascular disease and stroke, the No.1 killer of women and men in this country, and works to fight the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in the US.
