Pink Boa!
We went to three fantastic outdoor events over the weekend, starting Sunday morning when we joined the Tigerlily Foundation and hundreds of supporters at Fairfax Corner for the third annual Pink Boa 5k Run/Walk.
The walk raised funds to support young women before, during, and after breast cancer. Congrats to Mix 107.3 host Sarah Fraser, who just hit the six-week mark on her new morning show. We snapped her bookended by Tigerlily Foundation's Ania Bassene and Mix colleague Sarah Hillware.
Tigerlily founder Maimah Karmo is surrounded by her daughter Noelle, nephew Elijah and niece Jada; they’re bookended by the Pentagon's Jackey Smith and Alisa Metzger. Participants were decked out in pink, with fun boas and tutus, as they made their way through the neighborhood.
Participants were treated to healthy post-run snacks, face painting, and mini massages. Here, USAID's Shannon White, AE Strategies’ Mike Swallow, In-Q-Tel's Vishal Sandesara, and Barrie Creative's Jen Barrie, who ran in support of their friend Heidi, who's been cancer free one month.
Marriott's Jarred and Ashleigh Abney, Rfdunn Settlement's Rhonda Dunn, Strayer U's Tito Melendez, FCPS's Lauren Jones, and Booz Allen's Chelsea Dunn.
