Super Schmooze!
Last night we hosted the 2014 Super Schmooze at the new DC District Center at 11th & E (and went to a couple other parties, too).
600 happy people ate the best food and drank the best drinks, along with top business networking in a fun new space. We snapped real estate developer Jim Abdo, Akridge’s Brian Connolly, and Cushman & Wakefield’s David Dochter.
Guests reveled in delicious food from 28 great restaurants, with five mixologists whipping up signature cocktails. Here, Cushman & Wakefield’s Chris Hunt, Elizabeth Miller, and Caitlin Slowinski with Social Tables’ Brittney Bernstein.
Brabo’s classic mussel station paired nicely with Marcel’s spicy tuna tartar with avocado mousse in a sesame tuile, and a melon gazpacho with flower honey and cinnamon crouton. We snapped Brabo’s Harper McClure with Marcel’s Paul Stearman and Tori Touhill.

It was seafood lovers heaven as both Fujimar and Lima served delicious versions of Ahi tuna ceviche, while Cure Bar & Bistro served smoked shrimp, and J. GCDC served (what else?) grilled cheese; Hill Country BBQ Market served (what else?) barbeque; and Carmine's dished up eggplant parmigiana. There were fantastic cocktails from Red Light (a delicious spicy version of a Margarita), Marvin's (The Suzie with strawberries), The Gibson, Satellite Room, Patty Boom Boom, and Tonic with American Summit, and great wine from Tarara Winery. Ping Pong served a sweet and spicy Shanghai Pimm’s Cup. Here, Bank Ruangsangwattana, Carleton Jenkins, and Chris Bassett.
1905 served pork belly with sorghum mustard and beer salt and Harrimans Grill Oaxacan chicken mole. Here, Regency Centers’ Nathan Bath, Branch Daffan’s Suzanne Swistak, ADCS’s David Chan, and Sun Trust Investment’s Michael Bolanis.
We couldn’t get enough of Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab’s shrimp and scallop ceviché. We snapped chef Gary Baca flanked by Velma Wood and Loren Martin.
