We went to meet acclaimed novelist Terry McMillan (How Stella Got Her Groove Back,Waiting to Exhale) at an intimate reception hosted by Conrad Cafritz at hip cocktail lounge, A-Bar, of his hotel, Avenue Suites at 25th& Penn. Hes on the board of literary society PEN/Faulkner; we snapped them with its president Frazier OLeary (right). At left, author Dolen Perkins-Valdez. Terry said she loves their work in schools; earlier in the day she visited McKinley High School and was thrilled to meet kids in a book club.
