The Secret Supper Club!
We went to the Secret Supper Club at the White Moose Inn over the weekend. Shhhhh… Don’t tell!
It’s in Little Washington, VA, half a block from The Inn at Little Washington. DC super developer Jim Abdo, who helped turn around 14th Street, has been visiting for years, and recently bought a 100-year-old inn and renovated it into six suites of “minimalist luxury.” And an amazing meal is placed before the lucky guests; in this case, from left, Sunnyside Farm’s Nick Lapham, Sharon Bradley, Dupont Fabros CEO Hoss Fateh, Dalia Fateh, Capella hotel owner Bruce Bradley, Margot Machol, Jim Abdo, Gardiner Lapham, Mark Bisnow, and Mai Abdo.
Why is the meal amazing? Because once a month, Jim brings in a DC celebrity chef. In our case it was famed Frederik de Pue of Table and Menu MBK, who served a five-course meal with an extraordinary asparagus theme. Before dinner, we snapped him in front of the inn with sous chef Sean Johnson. And Jim’s got lots more celeb chefs lined up. You’ll find a full pictorial on our adventure in the next Dining Bisnow, this Friday. If you don’t subscribe, you can do so here. You can find out more about the White Moose Inn here.
