Theater Festival!
We went to the opening night of the World Stages International Theater Festival at the Kennedy Center. During this 20-day festival, it will hold world-class productions of theatrical visionaries from around the globe. We snapped The Kennedy Center’s future president Deborah Rutter bookended by Maria Kersten and Donna Cutro.
During cocktail hour, guests viewed the new installations in the atrium, such as Pequeno Teatro (Little Theater) with miniature puppets from Brazil and costume designs sketches from Lion King and Wicked. Here, WNO Board members Kristen Lund and Rose Carter are bookended by their husbands, Torch Hill Investment Partners’ George Lund and Global Wireless Solutions’ Paul Carter.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, three-course dinner, poetry reading, and a surprise appearance of War Horse by Handspring Puppet Company. Here, Palestinian Mission’s Hakam Takash is flanked by his wife June-Wei Sum and Mexican Cultural Institute’s Laura Ramirez-Rasgado.
HRH Foundation’s Helen Lee Henderson is flanked by The Kennedy Center’s Nicole Kidston and Leslie Miller.
