America Abroad Awards!
Tuesday night, we headed to the Mellon Auditorium for the 4th annual America Abroad Media Awards Dinner! We snapped honoree Homeland co-creator and executive producer Howard Gordon with AAM founder and president Aaron Lobel and Homeland actor F. Murray Abraham. He's brilliant in the spy thriller, but he'll always be Salieri to most of us.
The evening honored five outstanding leaders whose work exemplifies the power of media to inform, educate and empower citizens about the critical social and public policy issues of our time. Here, award recipient and House Foreign Affairs chair Rep. Ed Royce and his wife, Marie, join Rep. Mike Rogers and his wife, Kristi, with Heba El Koudsy and Sen. Lindsey Graham.
This year's honorees included the Showtime hit series Homeland, a drama based on the most critical national security issues facing the US and the world today. Here, The Media Line News Agency's Michael Friedson joins Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich with United Hatzalah's Gavy Friedson, Homeland actress Miranda Otto and executive producer Chip Johannessen.
During the evening's dinner, guests enjoyed a lavish dinner featuring balsamic glazed salmon and a dessert reception following the program. Here, Voice of America's Faiz Rehman joins the Embassy of Kazakhstan's Dana Masalimova and former deputy director of Voice of America Alan Heil.
Bloomberg's Craig Gordon joins Lael Mohib and her husband, Afghan Ambassador Hamdullah Mohib.
Rep. Maxine Waters joins Rep. Ted Lieu.
