Armed Forces Foundation Congressional Gala at The Reagan Building
We celebrated the 11th year of the Armed Forces Foundation Congressional Gala at the Ronald Reagan Building.
The evening hosts wounded service members and their families from Walter Reed, Fort Belvoir's Warrior Transition Brigade and other local programs. Attendees were treated to dinner, dancing and a star-studded program. We snapped actor Frankie Muniz and Armed Forces Foundation prez Patricia Driscoll.
The AFF returns 95 cents of every dollar raised and, since 2001, has provided more than $95M in assistance for travel, hotel rooms, home mortgages, car payments and bills for families of those recovering from wounds suffered during war. Here, media partners ICAP's Tim Stuckey, FOX's Allison Hedges and FOX & Friends' Anna Koiman.
The gala recognizes those who have gone above and beyond the Armed Forces Foundation's mission: to support and advocate for active-duty military personnel, National Guardsmen, Reservists, military families and veterans. Here, former Lt Gov Michael Steele, former Caps player Rod Lang, LtG Jeffrey Talley and SVP Jack Simmons.
Attendees including Members of Congress and senior military leaders. Here, SFC Michael Vaccaro, Ret SSG and Purple Heart recipient Charles Eggleston, Director of Staff Air National Guard Bureau Garry Dean, and his wife, Elena.
Through the recent launch of its Help Save Our Troops campaign, the AFF proactively educates Americans about the hidden wounds of war, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), to reduce, and ideally end, military suicides. Here, Maj Jeremy Abrams, Ret Cpl and Purple Heart recipient Ryan lame, and Ssg Chris Offringa.
