DC Walk For Animals & Barktoberfest!
We headed down to the Capitol Riverfront near Nationals Stadium for the annual DC Walk for Animals. This year, the Washington Humane Society and the Washington Animal Rescue League joined forces and presented Barktoberfest and Pet-A-Palooza at the same time. We snapped "friends of all animals" Amanda Katzenstein, Danielle Polebaum, and Lauren Shea with Mazie enjoying one of the many beer tents!
Pet-A-Palooza featured dozens of pet-focused vendors, a doggie obstacle course and multiple photo booths. Here are Amanda Bignall and Robin Lucas with Ellie, (short for Eleanor Roosevelt) otherwise known as @puppyshade on Instagram.
On the Barktoberfest side, over a dozen breweries provided refreshing cold beer and a handful of food trucks doled out delicious bites on the warm Saturday. Here Jen and John Furley with Kalli and Titan.
Capping off the afternoon, many attendees entered their four-legged friends into the costume contest! Here, Johanna Elsemore with Lila and Courtney Tate with Jim display their very appropriate Oktoberfest outfits.
