Humantini!
Last night we headed to the Busboys and Poets in Takoma Park for a special evening of Humantini. Humantini is put on by HumanitiesDC as a monthly series highlighting historic and cultural topics in a manner that is both engaging and fun. Last night's panel on DC's Home of the March and Rally focused on protests and activism in DC's history. Here, Bonus March documentary filmmaker Glenn Marcus joins EmpowerDC executive director and co-founder Parisa Norouzi, activist and 1963 March on Washington veteran Dorie Ladner, and the evening's moderator, UDC's Cherie Ward.
Guests packed the back room at Busboys and Poets, eagerly asking questions and enjoying the many stories of the famous protests that have impacted Washington. HumanitiesDC is celebrating the 225th birthday of DC by hosting the yearlong series of historic and cultural programs.
