Marine Corps Marathon!
Yesterday, we joined thousands of runners and spectators for the 41st Annual Marine Corps Marathon.
Snapped: race winner Army specialist Samuel Kosgei, stationed out of Fort Riley, KS, with a time of 2:23:53!
The annual event draws more than 25,000 runners from across the country. Here, runners weave past the recently renovated US Capitol dome between mile markers 16 and 17.
Runners between mile markers 10 and 11 at Hains Point run along the wear blue Mile. The wear blue Mile allows runners to pay tribute to the service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Along this stretch of the course, runners passed 150 American flags with photo tributes of men and women killed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
