Nats Opening Day!
Yesterday we went to the Washington Nationals opening day at Nats Park.
Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon spoiled the party for the Nats, as he helped NY earn a 3-1 win despite an impressive Washington debut by newly signed ace pitcher and U of Missouri legend Max Scherzer. Colon allowed one run on three hits and struck out eight batters, and Scherzer struck out eight while allowing four hits in 7 2/3 innings, but two errors by shortstop Ian Desmond led to three unearned runs.
Good news: The game was sold out and Nationals Park was awarded the 2018 Baseball All-Star Game. Here, NFLPA's Leslie Isler and Nathan Johnson.
Despite the loss, we celebrated beautiful weather and the start of baseball season. Here, Quantum's P.J. Johnson, Navy Mutual Aid Association's Ryan Hutchison and Brian Ramey.
Fans gathered in The Bullpen for brews, food truck snacks and live music. Here, NGA's Nicos Eaton, HP's Nick Vranas, The Goal's Julie Crane and Check Point's Drew King.
Holland & Knight's Lisa Barkovic, AWHONN's Julie Berry and The Nationals' Alexandra Schauffler.
