Oyster Riot!
Friday, we went to Oyster Riot XXII at Old Ebbitt Grill. Here, Clyde's Restaurant Group director of food and beverage Bart Farrell, president Tom Meyer and managing director David Moran.
Oyster Riot is held the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving, and each night, nearly 1,000 people devoured tens of thousands of oysters while enjoying the gold medal winners of the International Wines for Oysters Competition. Here, KPMG's Peter Epley, CoStar Group's Corbin Haresnape and Kelley Smith.
Also included in the weekend's festivities was a Saturday Matinee Riot benefiting the Oyster Recovery Partnership, which coordinates oyster restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay. Here, partygoers Eric Andersen and Katie Campos.
To celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the Riot, Old Ebbitt Grill commissioned prolific and legendary album/CD art artist Dick Bangham to create this year's Oyster Riot poster, which was made available to party attendees for purchase. Bangham has worked with Little Feat, Black Uruhu, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Mississippi John Hurt. Here, Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution band, who performed foot-stomping Roots rock, old school Soul, New Orleans rhythms and feel-good Gospel.
