Paper Love!
Yesterday we went to a PEN/Faulkner Founding Friends luncheon to celebrate the new book by Sarah Waldman, Paper Love: Searching for the Girl My Grandfather Left Behind.
We snapped the author, right, with the German Ambassador’s wife, Huberta von Voss-Wittig -- much of the story takes place in Germany just before World War II – and host John Paty.
The book tells the thrilling story of Sarah’s search to learn what happened to her grandfather’s first love, who was caught in the Holocaust, and to understand the implications for her family. Here, PEN/Faulkner executive director Emma Snyder and the Humane Society’s Connie Harriman Whitfield.
Tamara Buchwald, PEN/Faulkner Board members and luncheon sponsors Willee Lewis and Kathy Field Stephen, and THEARC Board member Kay Kendall. The book has been getting rave reviews. Sarah's search to uncover the truth behind some old letters and photographs she finds leads her around the world.
Luncheon host Alma Paty, with Dotty Wexler, Kathryn Braeman, Carolyn Yanchey and Nina Herrick.
