Phillips After 5!
Last Thursday, we went to Phillips after 5: Sail Away at The Phillips Collection. We snapped Schiller & Flexner LLP's George Thompson, Sara McGanity and Eagle Hill’s Kate Bartosik.
The after-hours museum event took its inspiration of boating scenes featured in Renoir and Friends collection at The Phillips Collection, which ran from Oct. 7–Jan. 7. Here, IRI’s Elizabeth Tseng with Booz Allen Hamilton’s Jeet Shah.
Guests got a chance to take summer selfies, choosing their favorite tropical place on the green screen backdrop, sip on tropical rum drinks, enjoy the breezy sounds of the Casio Steel Drum band, learn basic nautical knots and line throwing, hear boating experts talk about Renoir's sailing images, make nautical knot bracelets and personalize their own artistic sail before competing in the Phillips' first-ever regatta on a mini-pool set up for the event. Here, The Phillips Collection’s Mika Rautiainen, Amy Wike and Vivian Djen.
Phillips after 5 is a lively mix of art and entertainment, including live music, food and a cash bar,on the first Thursday of each month. Here, Chase Jordan with George Mason’s Anastasia Slepukhova, who hand-crafted their sails and competed against in each other in the pool behind them.
