We went to a reception for the opening of an exhibit of extraordinary photographs by Allan Gerson that he took in Morocco, Nevada, Utah, Paris and Central Park, and were struck by the similarity of images in the Sahara and the American West. We snapped him with his wife, noted cookbook author and the brains behind Sips & Suppers, Joan Nathan.
