Revival Exhibition!
We went to the "Revival" Exhibition Opening Party at National Museum of Women in the Arts. We snapped the University of Michigan’s Colin Morrison, El Toro’s Charlotte Lamontague and consultant Katie Budd.
The exhibition, part of the museum’s 30th anniversary, is inspired by the museum’s focus on contemporary women artists as catalysts for change. REVIVAL demonstrates how women working in sculpture, photography and video use spectacle and scale for expressive effect. Here, public affairs professional Kelly Miller with NMWA’s Audrey Gerlach and her sister, Bridgepoint Hospital’s Emily Gerlach.
This party featured after-hours access to the exhibition before it opened to the public, open bar featuring wine and beer courtesy of Devil's Backbone, a specialty sweet-tea inspired cocktail called Deliverance, and a macaroni and cheese bar with other passed southern bites. Here are Securities and Exchange Commission’s Christina Thomas, Diane Morris, the New York Times’ Mikayla Bouchard and Katie Hatfield.
Revival focuses on 16 artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Sonya Clark, Petah Coyne, Lalla Essaydi, Maria Marshall, Alison Saar, Beverly Semmes, Joana Vasconcelos and Bettina von Zwehl. Here, American Airlines’ Nicole Drijas with Camila Darin.
