ShowTunes & Cocktails!
Monday, we went to ShowTunes & Cocktails at the Beacon Bar & Grill. We snapped theatreWashington theatre services manager Michael Kyrioglou with actress Tracey Stephens.
The monthly theatreWashington series features extended happy hour specials for guests, who sang along to their favorite musical numbers. Leading the sing-a-long was pianist extraordinaire Glenn Pearson, who performed on the Beacon’s baby grand, with special guest artist Tracey Stephens, now performing at MetroStage in "Christmas at the Old Bull & Bush" through Dec. 24. Here, Mary’s Mount’s Fendi Clagett with Frances Anne Hardin.
Guests also had a chance to win theater ticket giveaways. The event is funded through the generosity of the Beacon Bar & Grill, which donates 10% of the evening's proceeds to theatreWashington, and pay-what-you-can donations at the door. Here, theatreWashington CEO and President Amy Austin is flanked by Constellation Theatre Company board member Michael Burke and Anderson Hopkins Award for Excellence in the Theater Arts’ Carl Smith.
Among the songs performed were "You’ll Be Back" from Hamilton, "Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray, "Luck Be a Lady" from Guys and Dolls and a few holiday tunes. Here, Sherry Kuntz, a regular participant, with event host Glenn Pearson.
