Saturday, we went to Spurs Up vs. Kentucky: Tackle Breast Cancer Edition fundraiser at Mason Inn. With Pinktober fast-approaching, the alumni of the University of South Carolina wore their finest pink attire and gathered together to watch their alma mater play the Kentucky Wildcats in football. We snapped event organizer and breast cancer survivor Melissa Green, who works at Squire Patton Boggs, with Mason Inn's Dixon Muller.

The event raised funds to benefit Casting for Recovery’s Mid-Atlantic chapter and Life With Cancer. With a donation at the door, guests enjoyed drink specials and had a chance to win prizes such as Mason Inn bar tabs, signed USC basketballs, and Gamecock apparel during the halftime raffle. Here, USPTO's Yolanda Wilson, Fairfax County Public School's Liz Galinis and financial analyst Lauren Oswalt.

Casting for Recovery is a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. Here, GB&A's JK Chaney and Damian Wingate flank INOVA's Seychelles Camba.
