Suited for Change!

Last night we also joined ladies (and a few gentlemen) for Suited for Change’s bi-annual Designer Closet Sale at the non-profit’s downtown office. We snapped board members and supporters Terese Whitehead, Lisanne Crowley, and Teresa Payne-Nunn.

There were deeply discounted designer wares, such as Coach purses, Hermes scarves, and Burberry coats. Here, shoppers Iman Humes and Shakira Freso with Marsha Scherbel, a teacher at Holton-Arms School which puts on an annual fashion show for Suited for Change.

Founded in 1992, Suited for Change provides professional clothing, career, and life-skills education to low-income women. The organization has helped over 22,000 area women get into the workforce. Here, Executive Director Sharon Flynn, Ann Mulla, photographer Donna Parry, and Pat Morris.

Suited for Change accepts professional clothing donated weekly from many people, including senators’ wives. Each month, they host a DC Insider Fashion Sale featuring $1 - $15 professional attire. Here, board members and volunteers Jamshed Mulla, Sarah Coppersmith, and Daniella Burgos.

Travis Holler, Alfredo Flores & Merjan Bubernack contributed to this issue.
