The Budapest Festival Orchestra!
We joined a distinguished crowd at the St. Regis for a private Budapest Festival Orchestra reception ahead of its Kennedy Center performance.
Guests enjoyed champagne cocktails and chocolate pastries in a room filled with red roses. We snapped The National Symphony Orchestra’s Albert Beveridge; the night's hosts, Aniko Gaal Schott and Jane Cafritz; and Bolivia’s former first lady, Ximcha Sanclier de Losada.
The legendary maestro Ivan Fischer founded the orchestra 35 years ago in communist Hungary; it's now one of classical music’s hottest ensembles, which he credits to the musicians. He's with former US Chief of Protocol Selwa “Lucky” Roosevelt.
Guests enjoyed a short musical program, with pieces from Jacques Ibert and Denes Agay, and Happy Birthday for a special guest. Here, Isabel Ernst is with France’s Countess Alexandra de Clermont-Tonnerre and Count and Countess Anais and Renaud de Viel Castel.
Washington Life’s Roland Flamini, Monaco's Ambassador to the US Maguy Maccario, and Gen. Tim White.
