Tudor Place Garden Party!
We went to Tudor Place in Georgetown for its Bicentennial Celebration Garden Party.
We snapped Council member Jack Evans with Betsy Cooley in front of the Tudor Place Pierce-Arrow Roadster, which was owned by Armistad Peter III, the home's last private owner. Jack gave guests a DC proclamation on the Tudor Place Bicentennial.
The festively decorated clear tent with tangerine colored tables and lounges on the expansive lawn were a delight. Here, Irish Ambassador Anne Anderson joins trustee and Brown Advisory's Bruce Whelihan and his wife, Alice.
A string quartet played as guests entered the gardens, and a lively jazz band entertained those dancing under the tent. Here, investor Dennis Paul and his wife, Georgiana, with Treasury's John B. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Alex.
Historical impersonators portrayed family members and guests of the home; Gen. George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette bookend Alliance Française board member James Figetakis and Save the Children's Patricia Langan.
Supporters Christopher Cobb and his wife, Anne, with trustees Pamela Jenkinson and Chevy Chase Land Co board chair Kate Carr.
Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening as the weather seemed to clear for this important event. Here, trustee Eric Fraunfelter is surrounded by his wife, Harriet, and president emeritus Ellen MacNeille Charles.
GMU's Porter Wheeler and his wife, Mary, with Pam Somers and Tudor Place volunteer Kristen Hickman in the Tea House, a quiet retreat just off the main house.
During the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed an open bar and buffet of delicious food. Here, Peggy Tomlinson and Gina Michele Takemori.
