William Wegman Out of the Box!
Last night we stopped by the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center for a reception celebrating famed photographer, painter and author William Wegman for the opening of William Wegman: Out of the Box. We snapped the artist with Adam Olsen, a young fan who told us Wegman inspired his own passion for photography, and Adam’s mom, Lisa Fortune.
The reception and book signing was held in the Cancer Center Atrium, where 27 Wegman photographs featuring dogs in various costumes and poses are on display until March 15. Here, Lombardi Center Director Dr. Louis Weiner, right, with Dr. Filipa Lynce and Dr. Claudine Isaacs.
Prior to the reception, Wegman visited with pediatric oncology patients at Georgetown and read them his new children’s book Flo & Wendell Explore. Here, Ampersand Strategies’ Josh Nanberg with Georgetown Medical Center’s Lauren Wolkoff and Elliott Crooke.
All of Wegman’s photographs displayed are for sale; a portion of the proceeds benefits Lombardi’s Arts and Humanities Program, which promotes the best life experience for patients, families, and caregivers through activities and education.
