Winter Show!
Saturday night we went to the highly anticipated annual antique Washington Winter Show at American University's Katzen Arts Center.
This year’s theme was Ports of Call, featuring antique pictures, jewelry and fine china; proceeds benefited local charities. Here, The Woodner Co’s Joe Mirby, Washington Winter Show director Hannah Cox, GW Mt. Vernon’s Stephen McLeod, New Direction Psychiatric Services’ Morgan Farrar and White House Council on Environmental Quality’s Ryan Velasco.
A steel drummer entertained the crowd browsing through the exhibit, which enjoyed drinks and the company of fellow collectors. Here, the Angelos family: NBC Universal’s Julia Angelos, her mother Boyd Antiques’ Priscilla, and sister Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Emily. They surround the show’s lawyer, Hogan Lovells’ Bill Curtin.
The show was founded in 1955 and has been a DC favorite ever since. Here, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum’s Gretchen Bulova, her husband VA House of Delegates’ David Bulova, DAR’s Mark Whatford and Brooking’s Catherine Piez.
Collector and Saturday Lecture committee member Liddy Chaney, Arthur Kaplan Antique Jewelry owner and Merry Highby Interior Design owner.
