Amazon Fulfillment Center Coming To Troutdale Reynolds Industrial Park
The Port of Portland Commission voted this week to OK the sale of 74 acres at the port's Troutdale Reynolds Industrial Park to accommodate development of an 855k SF fulfillment center for Amazon. The buyer, Troutdale Associates LLC, paid about $20M for the site. It plans to ink a long-term lease with the retail behemoth, reports the Oregonian.
Trammell Crow has been tapped to design and build the facility, which will be between the Troutdale Airport and a FedEx Ground facility. Amazon has been stepping up the pace of opening fulfillment centers lately; in January, the company announced a new one in Colorado. Such centers reflect the growing need of online retailers to get items to buyers as quickly as possible. Amazon operates about 50 fulfillment centers nationwide.
